Andaman And Nicobar Travel Update: Issued New Travel Guidelines for Visitors

Are you planning to travel to Andaman and Nicobar this winter season, if yes then you must be aware of the new Covid-19 guidelines issued by the A&N Administration. The officials on Thursday issued a new guideline for travellers as well as for inter-island travel.

Andaman Travel Update

To Enter Andamans,

If you’re double-vaccinated, it has been 15 days since your second dose.

  1. No RT-PCR is required to enter Andaman.
  2. Carry your COWIN final vaccination certificate with you.
  3. Carry the ID proof mentioned on the COWIN certificate.

If you’ve gotten no doses, or partially vaccinated (one dose) or it has not been 15 days since the second dose.

  1. Carry RTPCR report within 48 hrs before starting the journey from an ICMR-approved lab.
  2. You’ll undergo a compulsory & free RTPCR test in Port Blair on arrival.
  3. A single-day self-quarantine in Port Blair, until test results arrive, is mandatory.

PLEASE NOTE: Applicable for anyone older than 12 Years, children under 12 years are exempt from the above requirements.

Covid-19 Guidelines for Foreigners travelling to the Andamans.

  1. If you’re double-vaccinated, it has been 15 days since your second dose, you need to carry your vaccination proofs and your ID proofs.
  2. If you’ve gotten no doses, or are partially vaccinated (one dose) or it has not been 15 days since the second dose, you have to carry a negative RTPCR report from an ICMR-Approved lab. The test report will have to be no more than 48 hours old at the time of check-in. You will have to then undergo a compulsory & free RTPCR test in Port Blair on arrival. A single-day self-quarantine in Port Blair until test results arrive is mandatory.

They will be tested at the Point of Entry as well. All asymptomatic passengers travelling to inter-island sectors, regardless of vaccination status, are exempt from any type of COVID-19 testing.

All symptomatic passengers departing from the mainland or travelling to inter-island sectors, regardless of age or vaccination status, must undergo RT-PCR testing within 48 hours of departure.

The new guidelines were issued in response to a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
