The High Commission of Malaysia (HCM) in New Delhi on Friday informed that the immigration department of Malaysia has started accepting applications for the Multiple Entry eVisa (MEV) starting from January 20, 2023.
Malaysia’s immigration department announced that applications for the Multiple Entry eVisa (MEV) are now open for all countries that require a visa. However, visa applicants are required to comply with all terms and conditions set by the Malaysian government.

Below is the list of categories that are allowed to apply for eVisa under the Multiple Entry eVisa (MEV) facilities :
- Fly and Cruise
- Wedding Tourism
- Medical Treatment
- Business
It is worth noting here that the eVisa MEV application is required to include a letter of invitation from a local entity that must also be responsible as a sponsor to the applicant.
Multiple Entry Visa that has been issued can not be converted to Long Term Visit Pass.
1. Visitors For the Purpose of Flying & Cruise
This category refers to foreign nationals on a cruise from/to Malaysia boarding a cruise ship via a gazetted entrance.
Documents Required
- Passport photo with white background (80% Face Coverage).
- Travel ticket which has been verified.
- Proof of payment for accommodation.
- Latest bank statements (past three months).
- Travel information.
- Page of the applicant’s passport with a validity period of no less than six months from the date of arrival in Malaysia.
- Declaration of the applicant or other relevant supporting documents.
2. Visitors For the Purpose of Wedding Tourism
This category refers to foreign nationals who intend to scout wedding venues or get married in Malaysia.
Documents Required
- Passport photo with white background (80% Face Coverage).
- Travel ticket which has been verified.
- Proof of payment for accommodation.
- Latest bank statements (past three months).
- Travel information.
- Page of the applicant’s passport with a validity period of no less than six months from the date of arrival in Malaysia.
- Declaration of the applicant or other relevant supporting documents.
3. Visitors for The Purpose of Medical Treatment
This category refers to foreign nationals seeking medical treatment in Malaysia.
Documents Required
- Passport photo with white background (80% Face Coverage).
- Page of the applicant’s passport with a validity period of no less than six months from the date of arrival in Malaysia.
- Travel ticket which has been verified.
- Proof of payment for accommodation.
- Reference/appointment letter from a registered medical centre.
- Latest bank statements (past three months).
- Other relevant supporting documents.
4. Visitors for The Purpose Business
This category of business visitors refers to foreign nationals who wish to enter Malaysia with the purpose of investing or attending to a business matter.
Documents Required
- Passport photo with white background (80% Face Coverage).
- Page of the applicant’s passport with a validity period of no less than six months from the date of arrival in Malaysia.
- Travel ticket which has been verified.
- Proof of payment for accommodation.
- Latest bank statements (past three months).
- Invitation letter from a government/private agency/sponsor to invest, or for a business matter.
- Other relevant supporting documents.
