The Indian High Commission in Ottawa, Canada on Thursday issued an update regarding the validity of the e-Visa which is issued prior to the suspension of the Indian e-Visa in March 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Validity of Indian e-Visas For Canadian Passport Holders
The embassy has announced that for Canadian passport holders, all types of e-Visas issued prior to their suspension in March 2020 that are still valid have been restored and will be valid until their original expiration date.
“All categories of e-Visas, issued to Canadian passport-holders, prior to its suspension in March 2020 and which are still valid, stand restored and will remain valid up to their original validity period,” said the embassy in a press release.
Indian e-Visa For Canadian Passport Holders
India on December 20, restored the e-Visa facility for all Canadian passport holders. Those who wish to visit India for tourism, business, medical, or conference purposes may apply for an e-Visa at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html and follow the instructions provided on the website.
It is important to note that the e-Visa facility has already been restored for nationals of 165 countries, including all 27 members of the European Union.
However, the e-Visa has not been restored for UK, Malaysia, and Canada due to some diplomatic reasons. However, earlier this month, India also restored the e-Visa for the UK and Malaysia.
